In the world of investment banking, CEOs may not be the persons who receive the highest pay. In 2011, Deutsche Bank AG (DBK), Germany’s biggest bank, said Anshu Jain earned more than Chief Executive Officer Josef Ackermann last year after his corporate and investment banking unit reported record revenue.
Jain, 48, was paid about 12 million euros ($16.7 million) in salary, upfront and deferred bonuses and benefits. Ackermann, 63, was paid 8.99 million euros last year, compared with 9.55 million euros in 2009.
